Simple Fun and Lasting Memories
Some of the best family vacations aren't measured by how much you do—they're measured by the moments you share. Whether it's building sandcastles, spotting wildlife, or enjoying a movie together after a day of adventure, Bay City offers plenty of opportunities
for families to reconnect and make lasting memories.

Friday Evening
Arrive in Bay City and kick off the weekend with a family dinner. Whether it's pizza, burgers,
or Tex-Mex, the goal is simple: relax, settle in, and start making memories.
After dinner, take a stroll through historic downtown Bay City, where colorful murals, locally owned shops,
and small-town charm invite you to slow down. Before calling it a night, step back in time with a sweet treat from
Nana’s House of Treats – a favorite stop for visitors of all ages.
Saturday
Start the day with a short drive to Matagorda Bay Nature Park, where families can spend the morning kayaking, playing a round of mini golf, searching for seashells, or simply enjoying the beach. Where the Colorado River meets the Gulf of Mexico, families can enjoy a unique mix of beach, river, and outdoor recreation all in one destination. With plenty of space to spread out and explore, it's easy to spend hours making memories along the Gulf Coast.
After lunch, return to Bay City and spend the afternoon at Riverside Park. Let the kids burn off energy
on the playground, cast a line into the Colorado River, or enjoy a leisurely walk beneath the shade of towering trees.
As evening arrives, continue the adventure at Schulman's Movie Bowl Grille,
where bowling, arcade games, movies, and dinner provide the perfect ending to a fun-filled family day.
Sunday
Grab breakfast for a picnic at the Matagorda County Birding Nature Center.
As the kids spot birds, turtles, and other wildlife along the trails, you'll have one last chance to soak
in the beauty of Bay City—and perhaps start planning your next family adventure before you even leave town.
